Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington in Ohio, dropped out of high school, and relocating to Los Angeles after her divorced parents. Though she struggled financially in 2001, her debut came as Rachel's Room's principal character. The TV film Murder in Greenwich, in which she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. She played the lead role for two seasons, and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace has worked with Tom Welling on The Fog in 2005, was looking to go into film. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) in Suburban Girl as well as The Jane Austen Book Club. Her role was reprised as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon once more in the show's finale and in two additional episodes. In 2013, she appears in Californianation, the sixth Season. She plays Faith as a groupie, as well as a model for actors. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. She's a Gyllenhaal, the child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is more senior in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager her career began on small roles with her father and appeared in Donnie Darko alongside her twin brother. In 2002, she starred as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also, she appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her lead performances in Secretary (2002, erotic romantic drama), and Sherrybaby (606) Both of which garnered the actress Golden Globe Award nods. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after numerous highly successful films, including World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal. She was nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). The subsequent roles she has played include Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang and Hysteria. In addition to her role as a Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). The latest roles included her character as the primary protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal began her professional career as a screenwriter and director in 2021 when she directed and wrote The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama. The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in the Venice International Film Festival, and was also nominated for the Academy Award.
