John Denver became a star with the folk-based songs he wrote, most of which were located in Colorado. More than a few people beat a path towards Colorado following the Denver's cult anthems to his adopted state. G. Brown the curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated the following: John Denver was by far one of the top musicians who was a symbol of Colorado. In the year 2011, Denver was named the Hall of Fame's first inductee. Denver is today the face of Colorado on the world stage. On my trips, I've met people from New Zealand or the other side. If you inform them you're from Colorado the first words they say are"Oh John Denver. Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads was Denver's first Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working within small Folk Music groups. The track was written with Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the song along with Johnny Cash in mind but after Denver saw an early rendition he knew right away the song could be an instant hit. Just a few days after performing to an excited audience at Washington D.C., the performer recorded the track.
